Veracity vs Gong, side by side
The biggest difference is who each one serves, and when. Gong serves the whole revenue team from recorded calls. Veracity serves the rep during the call itself.
| Gong | Veracity | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Revenue teams: reps, managers and leaders | The rep on the call, and their manager |
| What it is | A revenue platform, in its own words a "Revenue AI OS" | A desktop app for Windows and Mac |
| How it gets the call | Joins scheduled calls or connects to your Zoom account, and records them | Hears your microphone and your computer's audio; nothing joins the meeting |
| During the call | A transcript in near real time, with topics, action items and risks tagged | The next question while the buyer is still talking, and answers from your own documents |
| After the call | Recordings and transcripts that feed coaching, deal risk and forecasts | A recap, every question graded with a better sentence, and a rating that moves with your calls |
| Audio | Recorded | Never saved; a live transcript, encrypted on your computer during the call |
| Calls it covers | Zoom and Microsoft Teams among its integrations, plus phone calls and its own dialer | Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Webex and meetings in the room |
What the rep sees during the call
Gong's own pages describe the live part of a call as a transcript and alerts: its AI "transcribes the call in near real time, tagging key topics, action items, and risks," and it surfaces "deal risks and buying signals in real time." Veracity puts the help on the rep's screen:
- An opening question is ready when the call starts, built from your prep, your research and your earlier calls with the account.
- While the buyer is still answering, it writes one open question of 20 words or fewer, then upgrades it in place with what they just said: "You mentioned..."
- Answers come from your own documents, with the files they came from named.
- Nothing on the card changes while you're talking, so a glance is enough.
When Gong is the right choice
If you run a revenue team and want every call recorded, searchable and rolled into forecasts, Gong is built for that. Its platform page lists agents for "pipeline review, coaching, deal risk, and more," forecasting to help leaders "call their number accurately," and a dialer to "make, record, and log calls from web or mobile."
Veracity has no dialer and no forecasting. It is built for the call itself: the question you ask next, the answer you give, and a grade on how you did.
Using Veracity with Gong
The two can run side by side: Gong keeps the team's recordings, and Veracity sits on the rep's screen during the call. Veracity can import transcripts from any recorder (.txt, .md, .csv, .vtt or .srt), so calls recorded elsewhere still feed the opening question and answers on your next call with that account.
For managers, Veracity adds team and per-person call scores by week, built from the grades on each call.
