Veracity vs Balto

The short answer

Balto is software for contact centers. It connects to your phone system and guides agents on phone calls in real time. Veracity is a desktop app for B2B sales reps in video meetings on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or Webex, and in meetings in the room. Nothing joins the meeting, and it puts the next question and answers from your own documents on your screen while the buyer is still talking.

On your computer
  1. It opens on your computerBeside Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or Webex, or in a meeting in the room.

  3. Help arrives During the callThe next question while the buyer is still talking, and answers from your docs.
  4. A grade after the callEvery question graded, with the sentence you could have said instead.
Two kinds of call. A phone call in a contact center, and a meeting Veracity runs beside. Balto's steps come from its own website.
01 / The difference

Veracity vs Balto, side by side

Both help while the call is still happening, and both answer from your own material. The biggest difference is who each one is built for. Balto is built for contact center agents on phone calls. Veracity is built for B2B reps in video meetings and meetings in the room, where one deal can take several calls.

02 / During the call

What the rep sees during the call

In Balto's words, it "follows each live conversation and surfaces guidance in real time, so agents always have the right next step in front of them." Its prompts "show agents the best discovery questions and rebuttals," and its answers come "from your own knowledge base." Its Win Rate Analysis "lets you test phrases against each other and automatically shows agents the winning option." Veracity writes the help for the buyer in front of you:

  • An opening question is ready when the call starts, built from your prep, your research and your earlier calls with the account.
  • While the buyer is still answering, it writes one open question of 20 words or fewer, built only on what they said, then upgrades it in place: "You mentioned..."
  • Answers come from your own documents, with the files they came from named.
  • Nothing on the card changes while you're talking, so a glance is enough.
From the Veracity launch film. The buyer says plant managers got paid late twice this year. "Let's just run a quick pilot" is struck and stamped doomed POC. With Veracity, the next question asks what the team had to absorb afterward. Find the cost first.
03 / When Balto fits

When Balto is the right choice

If you run a contact center, Balto is built for that. Its FAQ says "the best Balto customers are B2C contact center teams that directly impact revenue through customer interactions," and it works with inbound and outbound teams. It scores calls automatically, and it has a voice agent, Togo, to "automate high-volume calls."

Veracity doesn't connect to a phone system and has no voice agent. It is built for a B2B rep's meeting: the question you ask next, the answer you give, and a grade on how you did.

04 / A longer sale

Built for a sale that takes several calls

Balto's FAQ is plain about where it fits less well: "If your team has fewer than 10 agents or relies on a complex sales cycle Balto may not be the best choice." Veracity is built for that kind of sale. Earlier calls with the same company feed the next call's opening question, questions and answers, and you can edit that brief or switch it off.

Calls recorded elsewhere count too: you can import transcripts from any recorder as .txt, .md, .csv, .vtt or .srt files. For managers, Veracity adds team and per-person call scores by week, built from the grades on each call.

06 / Questions

Questions, answered

It depends on your team. If you run a contact center taking or making phone calls, Balto is built for that, and Veracity doesn't connect to a phone system. If you're a B2B rep running discovery calls and demos on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or Webex, or in the room, that is what Veracity is built for.
Balto's FAQ says "Currently, Real-Time Guidance is only for phone calls," and that agents need "a softphone system like RingCentral, Five9, Convoso, etc." Veracity runs beside Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and Webex, and in meetings in the room, on Windows and Mac.
Yes. Balto says it returns "verified answers from your own knowledge base." Veracity's answers come from your own documents (PDF, Word, text or Markdown), and the card names the files it used. When your documents don't cover it, Veracity says so instead of guessing.
It keeps a live transcript during the call so it can help you, encrypted on your computer. The audio is never saved, nothing joins the meeting, and you confirm recording consent before every call.
