Veracity vs Convo, side by side
Both run on your computer during the call, so the moment they cover is the same. They differ in what shows on your screen, where the answers come from, and what you get once the call ends.
| Convo | Veracity | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Sales and customer success teams; its site also names consultants and recruiters | The rep on the call, and their manager |
| How it gets the call | A desktop app for Mac and Windows that runs locally; in its words, "No bot joins" | A desktop app for Windows and Mac that hears your microphone and your computer's audio; nothing joins the meeting |
| During the call | A next move from its Live Assistant, which reads the call every few seconds, and one response when you press ⌘ Enter | One open question while the buyer is still answering, upgraded in place with what they just said |
| Where answers come from | It uses "company knowledge and past calls"; its homepage doesn't say whether an answer names its source | Your own documents, with the files named; when they don't cover it, it says so |
| After the call | Drafts the customer follow-up, prepares notes and tasks for the CRM, and keeps the team updated | A recap, every question graded with a better sentence, and a rating that moves with your calls |
| For managers | A manager saves one moment from a call to coach, and it shows up for the team on the next call | Team and per-person call scores by week |
| Calls it covers | Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex and Slack | Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Webex and meetings in the room |
What the rep sees during the call
Convo's homepage says it "hears what the buyer really means and tells you what to do while they're still talking." It describes two kinds of live help. Its Live Assistant "analyses the conversation every few seconds and turns what its five skills notice into a next move while the call is still live." And when you want help yourself: "Press ⌘ Enter and Convo turns the live conversation and everything you prepared into one useful response on your screen."
Veracity puts the help on the rep's screen like this:
- An opening question is ready when the call starts, built from your prep, your research and your earlier calls with the account.
- While the buyer is still answering, it writes one open question of 20 words or fewer, then upgrades it in place with what they just said: "You mentioned..."
- The question builds only on facts the buyer said, and it never asks them to pick from a list of options.
- Answers come from your own documents, with the files they came from named. When your docs don't cover the question, it says so instead of guessing.
- Nothing on the card changes while you're talking, so a glance is enough.
How does consent work?
Convo's FAQ asks "Can anyone on the call tell I'm using Convo?" and answers: "No. Convo runs locally on your device. No bot joins, no recording notification appears, and the overlay is visible only to you."
Nothing joins the meeting with Veracity either. Before every call, it asks you to confirm you have consent to record, and you tell the people on the call you use it, the same way you'd tell them you're recording. The audio is never saved, and the live transcript is encrypted on your computer during the call.
When Convo is the right choice
If your team runs renewals as well as new deals, Convo's homepage speaks to both. Its homepage says "Sales teams get help while the deal is live. Customer Success carries every decision and commitment into what happens after the call." After each call, "Convo drafts the customer follow-up, prepares notes and tasks for the CRM, keeps the team updated, and brings open commitments back before the next renewal conversation." Its site also names consultants and recruiters, and its download page lists Slack alongside Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex.
Veracity does not send notes or tasks to your CRM. Its work after the call is about how the call went: a recap with Diagnosis, MEDDPICC, Risks and Improve sections, every question graded with the sentence you could have said instead, and a rating that moves with your calls. Managers see team and per-person call scores by week.
